The reason for that is that I am still in the process of learning all the important basics. Since I never really learned how to effectively develop high quality games, I obviously have to understand the basic concepts of game development before I can start to develop a REAL game. My plan is to write a really solid first game and then publish it on steam. It may not be the best at this point, but it will be a good start and I’ll be able to see this as a reference for the future. I’m also trying to hop into a Game Jam and get a chance to connect with other people, so I can learn from more experienced developers. Surely my first game will won’t be winning any prizes, but I hope to also learn from the feedback of the community and maybe start to get my name out there.
So for those of you who are not familiar with the concept of a Game Jam, it is a competition where you can create a game in a short amount of time. The idea is to create a game that is fun and interesting and that is not too hard to play. The goal is to get the best game out of the competition. The competition is open to everyone and the games are open to everyone. Mostly there is no prize money, but you can sometimes still win some small prizes depending on the contest.
I’m using this page as a starting point into my career as a game developer, or even developer at all. I am currently working as a Junior Software Developer for a medium-sized company based in Germany. But since I am pretty much a self-taught programmer, I decided to create this page to have references that I can use for my future job applications and also to have a place to show off my skills and being able to document my journey for myself and everyone who is interested.
